Today was not the most pleasant day. On the way to work (in our new truck) I cut someone off--accidentally of course. They made hand gestures at me. Then I almost bombed my ACLS test. Fortunately the teacher only did remediation with me and did not make me do the other test (You really don't want to do it", she said and then laughed). Came home and washed my husband's formal shirt and trousers. Dry clean only of course. So much for trying to help out. When he came home, we went shopping at King Sopper's where I started crying in the parking lot, for who knows what reason (I just love being a female). At Sam's Club we discussed that I should try making a cake with chocolate buttercreme icing. I went home and made a cake with regular vanilla icing. Hellooooo....is anybody home? Or maybe I should ask who's home?
Anybody else ever have a day like that? On the good side... I have a patient husband who helped me fix the plain icing to become chocolate, did not complain about my washing issue, gave me lots of hugs and kisses and helped me clean up my cooking messes. He also went grocery shopping with me--one of my less desirable tasks.
On Sunday my dear husband accompanied me to a bridal show. Or should I say I accompanied him. I don't enjoy these types of festivities, but admit that it was relatively painless. Honey was a good block against some of the more forceful advertisers. For those of you who don't know, we did a private ceremony in January and will be having a real "wedding" in the fall. I had no idea that it entailed so much. I vacillate between joy and terror. Who knew that wedding invitations could cost 1.29 a person not including the RSVP card--plus postage. Or that dance lessons cost 720 buckaroos? The guy who showed us his antique car (as an option for a limo) said that at $375--his offer was the cheapest we would get all day. Shockingly he was right. I am still trying to decide whether or not to hire a professional photographer or try to get family/friends to take our pictures. It is scary to think what my side of the family will do when they hear that I am even considering the second option. Heresy heresy!
Here's a photo of the cake, that turned out reasonably well considering the rest of my day.

I like the litterary style!
